Suggestions on inlaid coffee table?

Thread Starter
I got a brown coffee table thats about 5 ft long and it had a peice of marble inlaid it in at a yard sale. The marble was cracked and they didn't want to part with it so we took it out and left it as I wanted the table. At the time I had a good idea about what to put in where the marble was, now i'm clueless. Any suggestions? Brightly colored tile?

Ooooh, how about ceramic tiles (you could do solid colours, or patterns, or a mosaic sort of thing)? That could look really good.

Have fun!!!

I second tiles! Mosaic is great fun and can be done with so many things! If you want to do a mosaic using broken plates, you can put a piece of glass over it so that it is totally flat as some mosaics done this way are bumpy. Enjoy mama!!!!!

Or maybe a piece of art, poster, photo(s), ect and then use this special epoxy stuff that comes in 2 bottles, and you mix and pour it and it dries like glass? I forget the name of the stuff, but I can ask dh if your interested

If you use the epoxy stuff make sure you do it outside with no kids around (and prolly not if you're pregnant) as it's HIGHLY toxic!
