I am sad to say that my grandfather passed away yesyerday morning.

We knew it might be soon because alot of his vital organs began to shut down last week...on his birthday.

He lived a very full life full of love and respect.

He was an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather.

He was also an amazing husband to my grandmother for 50 years...she passed away 18 years ago.

He was a very important figure in my life.

He ALWAYS supported me...no matter how silly some of my choices may have seemed.

He made growing up easy and fun for me.

I will miss him.

For some reason, I have not cried yet.

Thanks for this board to let it out....

My grandfather died three weeks ago. I felt so sad when it happened, though not for him, but for me and my kids who won't have him in their life like I did.

He loved my grandma so much and now he's reunited with her. His body was failing him for quite a while and now he doesn't have to fight anymore!

We'll always have tons of memories, advice, etc. to guide us. I'm sure our grandpas will be looking down on us and our families, with much pride, forever.

May you and your family know only happy things!!!!!!

s I wish I had something insiteful to say.. we're moving across the ocean next month to be with my husband's grandparents (grandpa has 9 months left to live) and I'm not sure how I'll handle it.. I guess I just wanted to share.

I'm so sorry that you've lost him for now.

My grandfather died 25 years ago, soon after I married.

My oldest DS has some of his physical characteristics, so part of him has gone on.

Perhaps some day, one of your children will resemble him.

I do hope you do not feel guilty about this. Your grandfather only ever wanted for you to be happy when he was alive. The same holds true in the after-life.

My father crossed over 3 yrs ago. I did some crying but made myself stop. I remember that my dad only wished for my happiness. It didn't matter what I did with my life as long as I was happy. So I told myself, "Dad wants me to be happy, so I'm going to be happy"! It took some practice but I finally got it down. I know he's proud of me.

When we are happy, our loved ones are happy.

I'm sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself. Let yourself grieve but always remember that true happiness is what your grandfather wishes for you most.
