Interesting info re: the doppler Karen, thanks for posting. We are seriously leaning towards not having an u/s, and I was also wondering about the doppler technology. I appreciate the info!

I haven't had my first prenatal appointment yet either. I am in no rush since not much really happens in those first few visits. With my last one I went to the Birthing Center for the 1st time at 13 weeks. I do want to hear the heartbeat but maybe just once on my first visit after reading that data you posted. I want to have 1 ultrasound around 18 weeks as well.

The only pregnancy symptoms I have really had is fatigue & moodiness but both to the extreme. I am bummed because we were also supposed to be moving to a bigger place and the deal fell through. Now we have to start searching again.

I also didn't get the job I was applying for so I have to keep searching for a job too. I have realized that i am not the SAHM type after doing it. I need to focus on my own thing away from the home and family for some portion of my week and i want my own money.

Good news is that DH just got a new job and we just got a minivan for our growing family. woohoo!

It's so nice to be able to come here and hear how other are doing...I like seeing that others have the same due date (1/26), have liked seeing that February and March clubs have postings, etc. And though I'd never wish m/s on anyone, I am somehow comforted by not being the only one really struggling with it. I'm normally a very natural-foods-prepared-at-home type, but I cannot bear to cook right now. I can only deal with food as long as it takes to eat a little of it. So I'm eating more prepared food than I have in ages. I can't even poke my head into our pantry w/o being overwhelmed and grossed out by all the smells: teas, pasta, crackers, beans...who knew they even had any smell?!

13 weeks here!!! I can't believe I'm in my second trimester either. I'm gaining a little weight, me gaining ANY weight is awesome. I'm down to 2 pair of shorts and one skirt, but I don't want to wear maternity clothes because I don't look pregnant!!!

OT: how many of you have looked for jobs while pregnant, did any of you meet with resistance because of it?

I'm so glad to be in the second trimester. I was 12 weeks Sunday, and that fits my (and my doc's) definition. I'm getting quite plump in front, and I *may* have felt movement the other night. And I've ordered a hypnobabies home study course from an mdc mom, which I can't wait to get! I just found out that the midwife I was considering has decided to stop practising. She got acceptied into an Osteopathy course. Plus, we are about to buy our first house, and I'll be moving away from my friends (closer to family though), and I shudder to think of finding a doc as good as mine in rural NS.

Yeah, I just got a job at a call center. I didn't mention anything about being prego. I debated this decision a lot but I honestly didn't even feel like me saying anything would have been appropriate. No personal questions were asked. I was advised that in the state of florida they can easily discriminate against you for being pregnant so I didn't feel it wise to volunteer the info. I wonder if the urine drug test report will say it.

I'm pretty sure if you do a drug test they can only test for drugs. They test for anything else without your knowledge that is an invasion of your privacy and grounds for a lawsuit. Good luck with your new job!!!

Yes, we are desperate for the money, but I really can't work ful time until school starts, because if I pay for 2 daycares I'm working for some serious chump change. I'm in such a rock and a hard place. It sucks. But we will get out of it, somehow.
