Has anyone lese read this by Sue Monk Kidd? I loved "The Secret Life of Bees" so my husband bought this for me. I am loving it. The content isn't new to me so far (about halfway through the book) but I love her presentation. I think this may be one of those books I always keep close by.

It is so great to be married to a man who buys his wife a book about another woman's feminist spiritual awakening.

This is next on my list to read. I'm reading Secret Life of Bees right now and loving it. Glad to hear good things about The Dance of the Dissident Daughter.

yes, that is so great to be married to a man who is aware of and supportive of feminist issues!! Very cool.

I had the Dissident Daughter book recommended to me a few months ago and I can't wait to read it... what is the Bee book about?

The Secret Life of Bees is a novel about a young girl with no mother who runs away and finds the sacred feminine and a mother figure in the most unusual place...

It's a wonderful read.

Haven't read the ending yet but so far that is what I'm getting from it.

I bought this not long ago and have read the intro. I'm partway through too many books right now! But this is one I definitely want to finish.

I love this book. I have read it once and will keep it close by to reread as needed. It was a Goddess send in a time of confusion and need, .....I had been feeling rejected and betrayed by the Christian church and had wells of rage inside that was undefined and misdirected. Now, it has been channelled as rightous outrage.... and can be directed at change, awareness, helping myself, my daughters and other women. Michelle

I'll have to check it out sometime!

I thought that Secret Life of Bees was a great read! I even copied down some great quotes from it.
