For anyone interested. Maybe for those of you who happen to catch it, maybe we could chat about it. (I just finished reading Spiritual Midwifery a week or so ago...so this is perfect timing!)

okay...it's over now. I thought it was very well done. Just cool to see....although the Farm looks a lot shabbier than I had pictured it (the houses and such). They said that some of the founding members who still live there are worried that as they grow older the Farm might dissolve since most of the kids who grow up there move away, etc....they said they have about 200 residents, I guess none of them young couple types. Maybe when dh sells his novel we will go ....but then again I don't really want to live in the south at all...so I guess that idea is out. At least we will go and visit it! (and meet Ina May!!!)

Yeah, you'd think that on MSNBC they probably repeat stuff alot? I don't know, I don't usually watch that channel.

One of the Bradley teachers locally is married to a man who grew up on the Farm. When I met her she told us a great story about how when they were first married, very young and she was pregnant. Her husband had grown up with some very definite ideas about what normal childbirth was and she had been raised pretty mainstream. At her first appt he started questioning the OB about all kinds of things she had never heard of... epi, birth position, etc... He and the doc went toe to toe about whether they should be doing U/S. I think she might be at a meeting I have this morning. I will ask her if they saw it.

I saw it too!!! I too read Spiritual Midwifery (a few months ago) and loved it. .I thought it was neat to see what the farm really looks like. DH and I are thinking of going to the farm in August or september for "the farm experience" weekend. I think it would be a lot of fun!

A new edition of Spiritual Midwifery just came out this April. I got a copy for myself for Mother's Day so I could pass my other copy on to my pregnant cousin. I've not even had a chance to open it up! But there appears to be new birth stories from the adult children whose births were featured in past editions!

I'm gonna have to read it tonight!

The new addition sounds awesome.....that would be soo neat to see if the children ended up having births like their mothers....
