Our birth

First I wanted to thank you all for your loving words and support. It means a lot to me, I am feeling the love and the healing.

We had a lovely and peaceful birth at home. Labor was quick. And we got to spend the whole night with our sweet babe.
Galadriel Marie was born July 19th 2004 around 11 pm. She weighed in at 5
lb 4 oz and 17 inches long. She is beautiful. She has her daddy's feet,
dark brown curly hair, red ruby lips that look just like dd2's mouth. Her
cord and placenta were so tiny, just like she is. She was a breech
delivery, I came out just fine without any tears or abrasions. She had
apparent developmental problems. Something was wrong from the beginning.
We are not sure about internally, but there were some physical abnormalities
that lead us to believe that there were problems internally. She is now at
the funeral home and we decided against having her tested for anything. She
is at peace. Dh and I are are doing well. Waiting for my mom to bring the
girls back home. Things happen for a reason. I am so thankfull that we got
to hold our baby and spend the night with her. She truly is magical. I
miss her and it is hard to think about her, but I love her and she felt so
right to hold, but she was not meant for this world. She is in good hands
with her grandma.
Thank you all, peace and love.

Yes, thank you for sharing with us Brandi. It sounds like it was a peaceful birth and a peaceful way to say goodbye to your daughter. I'm glad for you that it was at home and that you got to spend that night with her.

I've had losses, but I cannot imagine what you are feeling since my losses have been early. If you haven't visited the birth loss forum yet, maybe you should when you feel up to it. The people there are very understanding and kind. I know that sharing with them has been helpful for me in healing from my losses.

My thoughts are and will remain with you. Take care - Tiff

I am sad for you but happy that it was a gentle peaceful birth, exactly what you wanted, and you got to hold your sweet little girl in your arms. I am glad she has grandma to take care of her.

Much love and peace to you.

Brandi...

My thoughts are with you and your family. Your strength is an inspiration to me. I know so well that nagging feeling. My 3rd child was born with multiple "birth defects" and though all the "professionals" assured me everything was fine, I knew all along something was not right. I felt like I too prepared for 9 months for her differences. I even told her the night before she arrived that I would love her no matter what and not to be afraid. I am so glad that you were able to birth in peace and spend the night with Galadriel. If there is anyting at all that I/we can do to support you please let us know.

to you and your family Brandi
