made me cry, too. I had avoided watching it when it was posted previously because I just didn't want to see other people's births while I was preparing for our own baby's birth. I'm glad I waited to watch it.

Bill is on a business trip today in San Francisco, so he won't be home until late. I'm just hanging around the house today. I think Marek needs a quiet day before we have our busy weekend (farmer's market in the morning, friend's birthday party tomorrow evening, college alumni picnic on Sunday afternoon). Besides, the laundry was begging to be done and there are lots of dishes (still!) piled in the sink even after I loaded the dishwasher. Need to vacuum, too. grrrrrrrr... i hate vacuuming...

I've been keeping up with posts in the May mamas thread in life with a babe, and again today I thought to myself, wow, how can people give their babe a bottle and leave them for even a few hours? Although I know Bill would love to be able to feed Marek, he finds it more important that Marek nurse instead of satisfy his daddy's need to "provide nourishment". And Bill knows that Marek will have many years of daddy-bonding. (And according to his astrological chart, he and daddy are supposed to have an extra special relationship. Marek also might display some rebellious attitudes, however, but what child doesn't? )

I just realized I haven't eaten anything yet today... perhaps lunch is in order...

i love that birth announcement! i wish i had photos (ANY photos) of Elyssa's birth... but it was so perfect and fast. ah well, no regrets. great photography.

claudia, something neat i heard several years ago was that daddies are the first ones in their babies' lives who show them that love doesn't just come from "nourishment." i think that's something very important for fathers to hear! they can be a very important part of the nursing relationship

I wanted to pop in and announce that Nora Marie has arrived! She was born in the water in her safe home at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 1. She weighs 8 lbs, 6 oz and 21 inches long.

The birth went perfectly, just the way I had dreamed. I am so proud that I did it! I VBACed with absolutely no problems. Take that! (you stinkin ob's! ) Just kidding, gotta go nurse!

Yeah. Me. I turned 36 weeks yesterday and since my first two came before I hit the "due date" I expect that to happen again. If I get my way I'll have this baby the night of the 17th or the early morning of the 18th. I hope I get my way!

I was a week late with number one and I am hopeful not to do that again.... chasing a two year old in summer heat with a belly measuring 38 cm.... well it's making my life less than joyful

Maillie Elizabeth arrived August 8 at 6:16pm. This is the first time I have been downstairs since she arrived so no story put together yet. But, MW got to the house at 4:30 (my mom made me call her) and I was 6cm. My water broke once I got to 10 and started pushing. Pushed for 16 minutes. The pushing was so intense this time - huge heaves; DH was straddling be form behind and I swear he was pushing with me.

7lbs 5 oz and 20in.
