Help with sewing a pillow

post #1 of 3

I have never sewed anything other than a button onto fabric. I want to make a pillow that will be stuffed with some special objects (soft). I bought fabric, good scissors, thread and some stuffing. It seems like a no-brainer- just start sewing on three sides, add the stuffing and close it up, right?

I thought I'd ask for any advice before I get started. Am I on the right track?

Hi;

Here's what I would suggest:

Sew up the wrong sides (the inside of your pillow) so the seams will be on the inside. Do three sides completely. On the fourth side leave 1/4 to 1/3 open for stuffing. Get the stuffing into all the corners (using a ruler or chopstick). When finished stuffing, pin shut and hand sew the opening. Then nap on your finished pillow for a job well done!

Thanks for your advice. I will be working on it in the next week or so.
