Maybe a stupid question about charting

Is it necessary to chart my temp. after I O?? I have been charting up until I O and then stopping for the month b/c I don't see what kind of info my temp. can give me after that. Is this silly? Should I continue to chart all the way through my cycle?

TIA

I would continue---some women bleed even when pregnant (mistake implantation bleeding for their period). If you are charting, you will know whether you are pregnant or not because if pg, your temps will continue to be high, or rise, while if not pg, they will drop drastically right before your period. Also gives you a head's up, so that you don't have to mess with depressing BFNs, etc.

I'm definitely no expert, but I know TCOYF recommends continuing to chart, at least in the first few months of charting, just so you get an idea of cycle length and luteal phase length. Also, if you're TTC, continued high temps can tell you you're pg before you might be "late." HTH!

I guess I haven't got that far in TCOYF. :LOL I guess I'll start brand new in the morning then.

Thanks!
