The Mothering book 'Having a Baby, Naturally'

Has anyone read this book? Or the Natural Family Living book that Mothering sells?

Do either of them address the topic of circumcision? My cousin is pregnant, and she is totally the NFL/AP type (first baby, but we've had lots of conversations about these kind of topics in the past, and she would totally fit in here at MDC ).

She and her husband know they are having a girl, though - so I don't really want to hit them over the head with circumcision stuff (I'm pretty sure they are the type who would only need to read the first 4-5 paragraphs of the Fleiss article and they'd decide to leave any sons intact). But I wanted to give them a NFL/AP type baby book that addressed the circumcision issue and called a spade a spade, so to speak - just in case 1) the ultrasound was wrong and/or 2) their next (or some subsequent child) is a boy. Was wondering if the Mothering books do that?

If not, can anyone suggest a book that would be appropriate?

TIA!

What about "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Circumcision?"

"Raising a healthy Family" by Peggy O'Mara does and it's a beautiful book with herbal remedies, discussions about vaccination, the whole child from birth to the teenage years.

Thanks Gitti - I can't find anything called Raising a Healthy Family when I do a search for Peggy O'Mara's books. Is the book you are thinking about Natural Family Living, by any chance?

I keep searching to try to find a Table of Contents for that book, but no luck. If it does have a chapter on circumcision, though, I'd like to get it for my cousin. I have found another book about AP type stuff, that does have a couple of chapters about circumcision, and I might go with that, but I'd rather buy the Mothering book, if that also covers circumcision...

Yes, Having a Baby, Naturally briefly mentions why circ is wrong.

Another good natural pregnancy book that mentions circ is Birthing From Within

I read the natural family living book.I did not like that it said if you are going to circumcise anyway atleast wait until the child is 6(or a few) months old,and to give pain medication. I had hoped to see a totally anti-circ stance.
