I am with K8 on the whole male fluid issue...:LOL

Caroline
Do you have a D.O. in your area?
See if you can find one or a holistic doctor who does cranial sacrals. This is a much gentler version of going to a chiro and it is not so ...ooohh...jerky and scary maybe????(this is just my 2 cents friends...I know some of you here love your chiros and that is great...I am not bashing-just offering a substitue ).
You do not have to lay on your tummy and the procedures are gentle and amazing and work right then and there..I have experienced a little soreness after wards but I have had some major issue with my treatments.
I really encourage you to seek out this treatment. From the sounds of it you would be much more comfortable.

Bears sorry about the swelling still causing you grief...

Kimberly glad to *see* you here and that you are still with baby!

Madrone are you sure the book says caulophyllum 2000x??? I have that in my kit and it is only a 30c. Just curious.....

ok gtg...old mother hubbard here at this house...

not much going on with me except waiting!
2weeks and 2 days left for me.....unless I go over!
You are right AP. I put in an extra 0. I'll go edit it. It says caulophyllum 200x - to repeat every half hour for 2 hours.

I did my first belly cast! I would like to one day have my own belly casting business. Didn't get paid for this, but she paid for the materials, so it didn't cost me anything. I'll have to use plaster afterwards to help harden it up because plaster strips are expensive here and they alone would cost over 40 euros if I used as much as I used in the states. The jelly that is similar to KY in the states is also very expensive, so we used olive oil instead and that worked really well. I wasn't sure if it would or not, but she was willing to take the risk because of the cost of the lubricant jelly. Maybe doing one cast isn't really that much to be excited about, but getting one other person interested in having a cast done by showing her my cast is a big enough accomplishment for me to be happy about at this moment.

BTW, I'll have DH do my cast for this little one closer to Aug 1. I don't think this baby is going to arrive early. Did DS's on my due date and I liked that a lot. It was much better to do the cast than obsess over when he would decide to be born.

just a quick response... i've gotta get some gardening done before it gets too beastly hot out there...

kimberly, prostaglandins come from the prostate, which is NOT affected in a vasectomy, so you still have the same amount as before.

madrone, aren't belly casts fun? i did tons of them when i was doing more doula work back in california. i use crisco mixed with a little lavender oil for my belly casts... NOTHING sticks to that stuff!

chiros: i had one exam in high school and it hurt for days. i tried again about ten years ago and it wasn't much better. i was told i was too tense... but i was tense because my back hurt, and i wouldn't have been there if my back wasn't hurting! just didn't make sense to me, didn't help a bit and was a huge waste of money. so i guess i'm one of the chiro nonbelievers.

bears, put your feet up and take it easy! no fun...

jenn, i've heard that human bites can be some of the worst bites ever... maybe your ds bit the inside of his cheek and it got infected? what a pain, both for ds and for you! one good thing is that the mouth is so vascular, healing is usually pretty quick if you can beat the infection. good luck and let us know how your lil punkin is doing!

not much going on here... dh comes home tomorrow, hooray! tonight dd and i go to see ben folds in concert... we'll see how long i last, but who knows if and when he'll ever come back to the gosh-forsaken backwater of a town, so i won't miss it!

now i'm off to buy some more lobelia to replace the plants that got fried last week (yes, i'm planting them in the shade!).

happy baby-growing, ladies!

well, we're slowly but surely marking things off our general "to do or get done" list before ian arrives...
yesterday dh had his vas...didn't hit either of us till later the "wow" factor of the finality yk? we're both glad he did it though, although it's bittersweet yk? dh said procedure was painfree and easy, they (he and dr L) talked all the way thru it lol...sports, babies, etc...clint says that dr L quipped that he wouldn't be surprised if ian was 10lbs by palpating him now...he told me the other day he felt he was already a "good sized baby"...

this morning i won a double stroller on ebay, so hopefully that will be en route soon! i can't wait to get it and test it out w/ my kiddos!

glad to hear the prostaglandins are still effecting for post-vas families - i was worried about having it done before he arrived b/c of the natural "ripening" it might provide for me at term lol!

kimberly, glad you're still hanging in there...i pray you can go into labor on your own and have that vbac, but regardless i know you'll be getting quite the prize right?!?!?

i've started bouncing on my birth/yoga ball quite a bit, mostly while i'm on the computer since it's more comfy than my chair...i hope it encourages this li'l monkey to drop down in there and engage right rather than his brother's funky malposition w/ a nuchal hand sigh...we'll see

need to go check on shelby, she's been conked out for a long nap...i'll tty mamas later

Today has been fabulous! The weather is not too hot, no rain, not too windy. Mid 70s and breezy. Took out DS3's dresser, gave it to DD. Assembled wire cube shelving in DS3's closet so he can match his brothers. My mother is so upset we don't have dressers, but the boys won't use them! They love the cubes so they can see all their clothes. I love them because there are no surprises.
DS1 started all this when he said his drawers were full and couldn't put his clohtes away. He had been putting all the junk from his floor in his drawers to hide it!! He did an awesome job on his room today. Dog has been peeing on his bed -ew! Hope the Nature's Miracle works. DH even put away all his clothes in our closet- pulled out the dirty stuff, what doesn't fit/want to keep and cleaned up the floor!

Then we moved on to the outside. 3 hours later, the garage is cleaned out, the van and car are cleaned out and vacumed, the van armor all'ed AND the bricks are all done!!! We bought 150 big retaining wall bricks last October when they were on sale. I was lucky to get 6 done a month starting in April. (PITA to get them leveled) All the bricks we bought are installed. We need about 25 more and some gravel, but whoohoo!!! We might actually finish the spring project before summer is over! All the hard stuff is done, I may get the 2 beds all finished before baby gets here!!

Sean spent this time asleep in the van. He wanted to be strapped in and we had all the doors opened while we cleaned. He fell asleep and I swear his cheek was less swollen when he woke up. I would imagine he was enthusiastic about brushing and had a small scrape along his gum line, then ate dirty dirt. He thinks it is very funny to come tell me he ate dirt, but how do you NOT react to that?? That is the only thing I can think of. Yes, it is less swollen- Thank Goodness!!

Baby moved anterior while we were all working so that is good. Still way up high and will probably stay that way till labor. Hopefully doesn't move breech again like last week. Grrr. I was stunned when I realized we are less than 4 weeks from D day! Due to a financial screw up on my part, I might not be able to get the car seats next week, but wait one more week. Durn it!

I suppose I should do something about dinner. We did work really hard today and deserve a nice dinner. DD has already ditched her family for her friends, but I wouldn't let her go to the movies since we were all working outside so I guess that is ok.

Hope everyone is doing fine this fabulous day!

So, we got *some* work done sorting through baby things today. Nowhere near as much as we needed to, but we're making progress at least.

Anyone else having LOTS of contractions? I can't tell if they're BH's or what. I'm just shy of 36 weeks now, and I didn't have anything like this with my daughter. Baby is still breech (I think) and still feeling lots of movement. But, these contractions are kind of uncomfortable. More than just toughening up of my belly, there's some cramping that goes along with them and I have to catch my breath sometimes. I'm hoping that's all good. I've told my husband unless my water breaks, I'm not calling my doctor's office, but I really want to hear that someone else is having a similar experience. It could be related to that chiro appt, I guess. I don't know. Anyone?

Do you think you over did it today? I probably did. I have had such contrax all day. Climbing in the back of the van to vac it out may not have been my best idea.... baby seemed to even be moving more than a few days ago. Every few days this seems to happen, but it is weird. Last time the cntrx started by 16 weeks. This time they didn't start till 30ish.

No, I sat on my butt and directed DH while HE sorted the boxes. LOL. I was having them all day long, from this morning on, so I knew to take it easy. Maybe I need to drink more water or something. I don't know. It's just very strange to have this discomfort when I had nothing like this last time. I hear that second and later pregnancies it's common to have this sooner, but I just need to hear someone else is going through it.

Thanks Jenn!

Did we all spend the day cleaning? I tackled the laundry room, because I want to set up a diaper changing station on the washing machine. I had thought about buying a changing table, but don't think that I can justify the expense. I'm a proponent of early potty learning and hope to have this child out of dipes sometime in his or her second year.

I can't walk out of my house w/o some neighbour saying (1) I must be having a boy, (2) I must be having two boys and/or (3) I must be having my two boys in the next twenty-four hours. Have your communities come to a collective opinion on the sex of your unborn children? Do people express horror when you tell them your due date? According to my neighbours, this child (or should I say "these children") should have been born ages ago.

On an encouraging note, a friend of mine had a two-hour labour last week, giving birth to her second child unassisted at home. A few years ago I had never even heard of unassisted childbirth, now I know at least three women who have done it.

This evening some friends rented a projector and held a screening of cartoons and Hitchcock's Rear Window in their backyard. Dd had a blast, and so did I, except now I can't sleep.

No, I didn't clean. I have good days and bad days, and yesterday was an I'm pooped let's just sit here day.

I have contractions pretty constantly. If someone were to hook me up to a machine right now they'd probably see reagular contractions maybe 5 min apart. Fortunately I can't feel most of my contractions. With DS I didn't feel my contractions until I was about 5 cm (but then it got really painful really fast)

I have gotten a whole bunch of comments in the last 2 weeks from older women. I'll just be walking by and they will suddenly yell out :your having a girl, right?" with a smirk on their face. The worst part is that I am having a girl, so it like validates their behavior. I so want to lie or say something smart-allecky, but that's just not me. I can't make myself do something unnatural.

I'm am voting that I have at least another week. I just don't feel like I'm about to have my baby right away. Is tendency to have your water break first hereditary? If so that might be how I start. Lots of that in my family. Both my brother and I were born that way.

Anyway, have a wonderful Sunday everyone. Happy baby growing.

I am having contractions and menstral like cramps in the front through out my days too....Never had this with #1.....and they make me stop what I am doing too.

Dodo..I know everytime I leave the house these days I get asked *the question* all day long from strangers when I am out shopping.."so you look like you are about done-when are you due....do you know what you are having..." so - on and so on...It is fun at first but by the time you answered the same questions 13x in one day I am about to make a t-shirt that says:
I am due in 2 weeks
We don't know what we are having
Yes, of course I am excited
I like being pregnant, so NO, I am not ready to have *this* over with

Jenn...krimany....you did a lot of work girlie...take it easy a bit.......hope your little guy is doing ok after eating his dirt...and that his swelling is still down...

You guys remember how I had that lump under my arm earlier in this pg and they said it was my lymph node infected? Well, it is back and huge and swollen again and painful.
I am sooo bummed as I really want the last little bit of this pg to be happy and positive! and now here I am with this stupid arm pit thing again, so, I will have to call my homeopath in the morning and make a 45 minute drive to the office to get it checked out again. I wish I had a scapel, I would just open my pit up and take the stupid thing out. I guess I should not joke about that b/c if they can't get this to stop I may have to go under the knife, huh? My dh says to quit worring and maybe it is just all related to being pregnant. BUT still I just do not want any more health issues to deal with now....
sorry for whining..but I am really bummed about this.

I am SO bloody tired lately, and last night I FINALLY figured out why :

I am literally waking up every time I try to move at night.
I can't roll over unless I'm awake enough to do it in such a way as to not
put myself in a huge amount of pain.

I keep asking my midwives if they are 100% certain that I can't have some
kind of pelvis transplant - even just until the baby is born !!
Pubic Symphasis whatever-you-call-it is a PAIN !!!
Hi Ladies,
Things here are fine, but I totally relate to all of you having trouble at night sleeping and rolling over. It's just been miserable. I have to remember to roll to my side and then hoist myself up. I've been getting up only 1-2x/night to pee-which is a heck of a lot better than what happened with DS#1. I was in the bathroom all the time. Must mean that this one is in a different positiion.

Getting a lot done this weekend. I think I am almost READY! Still haven't packed a bag for me or DS yet. And there are a myriad of things around the house to get done, but I think I have almost everything I needed to buy.
One more run to Target today and I think all should be okay.

Sleeping like crap lately. Thinking I've been asleep for like hours, and then I pop awake and I've only been lying down for 15 minutes. Still having a lot of tingling in my hands and my feet are REALLY swollen still. Although my EDD is still 8/5, I really think that I won't be making it outta July! Although DH begs to differ. He thinks I'll go later...

Ketilave-Just bought a bulb syringe yesterday. Didn't know where the old one was.

Foxy-We used to go to the chiro all the time, then we moved and we're a hike away from the guy we love. I miss going b/c I really felt that it helped me. But it's not for everyone.

Madrone-Congrats on the belly cast!

Dodo-Here's to the 2 hour labor!

Lena&everyone-I'm getting the GIRL comments, too. Got my haircut yesterday and my guy said, Oh, it's a girl.... we shall see...

AP- I'm sorry your armpit thing is back. How annoying and unnerving, I'm sure-especially at the end of your pregnancy. See what your doc suggests and let us know how things go in the morning...

Anyway, that's it for me. I'm hopinng to get lots done today. My bro is coming into town and staying with us for two nights starting Tuesday. Usually, I would be planning nice dinners, etc., but I'm thinking we'll be VERY low-key and even order takeout. I just don't have it in me to expel too much energy on what we're going to have for dinner-and I really, really like to cook. But bro does a modified Atkins, and wll, we're a veg house. So, go figure...

Okay, too much rambling. Hope you're all hanging in there. I wonder how Kimberly is doing??? And Laurie? Haven't seen her on here in a couple days. Perhaps I've just missed her...

Have a great day!

not much time to write, getting ready to head to my baby shower at the in-laws. Katje I just wanted to say I am so jealous that you are seeing Ben Folds! I LOVE him. Its been years since I've made it to a show. Have a great time!

Jillybean- how did the shower go?

Today I don't think I was as productive, lol. I had DH bring out the shower doors and I scrubbed them on the deck (no fumes that way) and also washed 3 sets of blinds. Also washed the high chair. I put it on the deck in March when DS3 stopped using it in favor of a booster seat. It was pretty nasty. I need to order the replacement pad and find the seat belt.
Also washed the toys that were on the deck. Had the big kids pulling weeds, treating dandylions, scrubbing with me outside then assigned them more stuff inside. Sent them to the movies a bit ago as reward.

I tried to take a nap but DS3 flipped out, then told me to go to bed about a half hour later when I fussed at him for something. It just occured to me that he didn't take a nap today....

Yesterday I really renched my back, I can only assume while cleaning out the van. (boy does it look awesome!) By the time I went to bed I could not put any weight on my right leg. It still twinges, but seems a tad better. I seem to recall doing this last pregnancy as well. Guess I had better balance the checkbook to see if a chiro visit is in the budget.

DS3's cheek is going down more. He hates taking the meds, but it did the trick. I might have tried something else first if it wasn't so sudden an onset. He ofcourse has the lovely diarhea to go with day 3 of an abx and is taking his diaper off the second he goes. I may have to put these on backwards since with out the cover he gets them off so quickly!

That is it for me I think.

My cleaning consisted of picking up enough to have the family over for Amelia's birthday. She has been taking steps since 10 months but unlike ds (who went right into walking) she's been very anti-walking but this week she's really into it. Great timing because she is sleeping too!

OK - it was a long day and I am ready for some tossing and turning - on the bright side I never fall into a deep enough sleep to mind getting up to pee.

Tomorrow MW appt - had a dream I went into labour, called her over and nothing happened. But last week we talked about confusing prelabour and false labour...3 pgs close together mean a lot of ctx and bh. When I can't talk or walk I will consider maybe that I am in labour - until then a couple of deep breaths should get me through the rest. Of course a few weeks ago I dreamt that I had a boy on Friday night, then another on Sat and another on Sun - and my mw didn't make it there in time! At least I know that one isn't coming true.

Hi guys!! My water broke at 7:00 tonight!!!

I went pee and noticed a little gush when I stood up.

Then I layed down with a prefold to check and coughed and soaked the prefold.

I'm sitting on the birth ball, rocking and no ctx to speak of but I keep gushing bits here and there, so I'm pretty darned sure this is my water!!!

Soooooooo, sometime tomorrow Katie will be here, one way or the other!! I have a BPP and OB appt tomorrow so I am going to just go and mention it then.... that will only be 14 hours post-breakage.
