Tragedy

Our friends and landlords lost their son this week in a tragic accident:

The article says they were turning around, but they were stopping so that friends could pull aside them and discuss where to go (they were lost). The shoulder had washed away and their wheel slipped off the embankment....they landed upsided down in the river 300 ft. below.

My friend (the step-mother) had just picked up their wedding photos--they hadn't even seen them yet.

I'm just sick to death. All of my petty worries are gone and I'm haunted by the tragedy of it all.

Oh how horrible! I'm so sorry for your friends' loss. I'll be thinking about them and saying some prayers.

Today was supposed to be their farewell party--their "Moving to Italy" party at their parents house. S and C are still having the party--although it's now a memorial service. C is a firefighter here and when I was over at their house last night, some firefighters came and paid their respects. The union is paying for the entire memorial. The community is so supportive, I can't believe it.

None of the parents wanted to seperate them, but Adrian (the newlywed wife) was from Minnesota and so they are going to be buried in Minnesota. Her dad died last year and they'll be buried next to him.

s to you

How sad. What a tragedy. It also seems as though these sort of things only happen to other people........

How horrible--truly. So young, too.

The only solace I would find in it is that they went together and had each other even at the very end. If I were a new bride, I don't think I'd want to be left without my husband. I don't mean that to sound crass--I just thought at least they were together.

Indiegirl, how devastating!

I'll be wishing strength to you as you support these grieving families in this time of tragedy. They will need to draw upon whatever you are able to offer them. My thoughts and prayers are with them, and you as well.
