There have been several threads on "hoochie" clothes, and your take (that it is wrong for girls to dress like 20 year olds) is definatly in the majority.

I'm on the other side. I don't think it matters much at all, and I will let my kids choose their own clothes just as I let them choose their hair color, but that is not the norm on mothering (nor the norm in most parenting circles - I mean not many of us were allowed to wear what we want or to cut our hair how we want by our parents; I wasn't even though I had pretty liberal parents. Some of it, I think, is how we see our kids as a reflection of ourselves; my parents, for example, thought they raised us to be, like themselves, immune to "shallow" teenage/mainstream culture and were not too pleased when we embraced it with gusto).
