the other day i was at goodwill gathering canning jars. i found several sets of dpn's in the jar with knitting needles.. and a thingmajig called a looper. i brought it home, it was only 25 cents. 
any idea what a looper is?? it's plastic, a red stick with a silvery end that has a needle eye on the end. the silvery end is probably the size of a #9 knitting needle. the red end has wire wrapped around it that has a circular wire opening protruding from the side.
