Stevia: What can I do to change bitter aftertaste?

My stevia is bitter...this is not good. Before I planted it it was fine and sweet down to the last taste, now its got this bitter taste.

Is it a ph problem in my soil? - Greenthumbs to the rescue!!!

I want to harvest it before our brief summer draws to an end, so I was hoping to get the problem licked before then.

Plants will usually turn a bit bitter IF they are too dry and have been stressed.

Tell me about how, where and what kinda dirt you planted your stevia in?

I planted my stevia in a very sunny, warm spot. The dirt was an existing potting type soil that was here when we moved here a year ago. I just added a really good healthy composted organic soil to the top layer of the garden. When I planted it I dug a hole and sat the plant in and placed the dirt back around.

It might have been a tad bit stressed upon planting, perhaps, or due to a day or so without watering. It has grown quite a bit since planting so...

Anyways, hope this helps direct your suggestions for me.
