Treating poop stains with household products

Thread Starter
Newbaby pooped all over his clothes and the bed while I was getting a new diaper for him yesterday. I washed them using my usual cloth diapering routine (once on cold, no soap, hot wash with soap). We have been using Tide. The poop stain mostly came out of the onesie, but is still on the snap strip on the bottom. The sheets have a big stain on them. Dh put both in the dryer, so they are now set in. Grrr.

What can I use to get them out? Is there anything I might have around the house? I do have some enzyme cleaner, some chlorine bleach (though they are both dark-colored), various other cleaning products, etc. I am pretty broke right now and have committed myself to not spending any more money until the end of the month, so I would like to avoid going to the store for something.

Thanks!

Something similar happened to me. Do you have any Oxyclean around?

Make a paste with it and hot water, scrub stain with it. I just slathered it on, and rubbed the fabric together. Can use an old toothbrush for getting into small areas (around snaps). I let it soak for awhile in warm water (just enough to cover). I washed it on HOT with a double scoop of Oxyclean added to normal amount of detergent. I also added some Oxyclean to 'presoak' and ran a presoak and extra rinse cycle.

Came out sparkling clean, no fading and so did the rest of the stuff I washed it in!

Hope you got some Oxyclean and it helps

After I wash the clothes, I hang them out in the sun and the stains are gone after a couple of hours!!
