moms who love homemade cleaning products

hi ladies,

Do any of you make your own cleaning products? Want to share recipes? I bought the book "Haley's Hints" a year ago and have mostly been using homemade cleaning products ever since. I use lemon, vinegar, baking soda, and borax to clean. I also use rubbing alcohol to clean the mirror. Here is a floor cleaner recipe:

1 gallon water
1 cup Borox
1 cup white vinegar
juice of one lemon (leave rind in water for extra scent)

Borox can also be used to clean dishes by hand. I use dilluted bleach to clean the bathroom when it is really gross.

What I'd love to find is a good laundry detergent recipe.

Let's share!

I make a disinfectant cleaner with castile soap, lavender and tea tree oils, and water.

I'm another greeny.
I dont' have a laundry detergent recipie sorry, our ECO products supplier in NZ has a great one I use. I soak cloth nappies in a bucket with a couple of tbs white vinegar, badly soilled ones are better with baking soda added to the mix. I have a bucket for each. Drying in sunlight works wonders. Windows and mirrors come up streak-free with a 1:1 mix of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. I try to avoid bleach (but have been known to use it on re-occuring mould..) and find biodegradable dish detergent and fairly hot water make a good job of cleaning the kitchen floor.
