some kind of shepard's pie (wheat crust could esily resemble boards, I immagine)?

As some of you know, I've been hot on the trail of a wooden, affordable sandbox for my beach-loving dd, and I've at last organized dh and his handy father from SoCal to build her one during the grandparents visit next week. I'm also kinda psyched by the whole fun with edible art idea...just read Super Baby Food and loved all her great ideas regarding broccoli forrests and animal pancakes and the like. So, why not a sandbox dinner to celebrate? Any vegetarian ideas, that are wholesome yet yummy enough to please the grandparents mainstream (yet, to their credit, adventurous) palettes. Sigh...I guess I'd like to impress them...But the main idea is F-U-N!!! thanks mamas!
