Tear in one of the placentas

On July 14th I started bleeding very heavily. An ambulance was called and I was rushed to the er. I never dilated and an u/s was done, we had 2 healthly heartbeats. I was sent home after about 3 hours. I was cramping when I left but was told that was normal. We were home maybe 2 hours when I started passing what I thought was tissue. Dh called the ambulance and I was rushed back to the er. This time my ob was there when the ambulance pulled up. My ob looked at the tissue and said I only see clots. Another exam showed no dilation and an u/s showed to healthly heartbeats still. I was admitted to the hospital and received 2 pints of blood. I was released after 2 days and sent home with orders for bedrest.
Saw my ob on the 21st and he told me that there's a tear in one of the placentas. Everything should correct itself by 18 weeks but until then I'm on bedrest. The babies still look good. I see the ob again on the 5th of August.
Hopefully I'll be back posting sometime in August.

Wow. Keep your feet up, and try to relax. You'll be in my thoughts.

Just want to send positive thoughts and good wishes.

I've had two seperate placenta abruptions in the second trimester. Both of which resulted in strict hospital bedrest for weeks and preterm labor. If you want to talk just e-mail or IM.

Keep up your iron with that blood loss and lots of protein to help that placenta heal. REST REST AND REST AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.

Keep us updated,
Kris
