Malden Mill Fleece.

Hello Ladies,
Please forgive me but I am new to this forum and I can tell you I am very confused! I would like to ask if any one here buys the Malden Mill fleece and if you do where is the best place to buy it? I have tried looking at a few places on the internet but not with much success. I am looking for some fleece for the inside of a pocket diaper. I have the Honey Boy pattern and I would like to try to make a pocket diaper with it. I tried the One Stop Diaper Shop but they have not been up and running for quite a while any suggestions? I hope that I am asking in the right place. Thanks!! Kathy

They have free shipping for orders over $50 until the end of the month.

www.fabric.com usually has some too, with free shipping on your first order.

You can look up a bunch of co~op groups on yahoo for different diaper materials, like MM fleece. I also know that a bunch of people have been purchasing the scrap bags directly from the MM website for I believe $35.00 including shipping and have been very happy with what they have received.

100 wt. has a little bit more loft to it than the micro does, so it's a little bit thicker but still does the job. I know that Joann's also has microfleece that works fine.

There are a few diaper stores on the web that sell Malden Mills fleece:

Fabric Connection
One Stop Diaper Shop
Wazoodle

and this site lists a huge group of online retailers of fleece (and other fabrics)
Diaper Sewing

Some WAHMs also sell extra fabric through their stores - but it's really hit or miss.

Hope that helps! Heidi

I don't really like 100 wt. for diaper inners, though it does work. However, the link that I gave you for the MM retail store lists their microfleece under the 100 wt. category. Microvelour, what they are clearancing is absolutely lovely microfleece! You should take advantage of it.

I bought mine through another WAHM. Micro is thinner than 100 wgt. Have to check into this sale......

Thank you ladies I will give these places a look. I have never used the micro fleece on the inside before does it work as well as people say? I am having a baby in a few weeks so I was wondering. Again Thank you.

T , jusf wanted to say thanks for the tip. I had read your message and decided to order. Wow! That is a lot of fabric - and cheap. Most of my pieces are at least 1 yard, some 2 - 3 yards each. Great tip MTBto5!

I just got some MM 200wt fleece and chamois fleece (not sure the wt. but it's soft and thin like micro) from Sewzanne's Fabric and love it. I have ordered twice from her and have been amazed with how incredibly fast I get my stuff.

I just wanted to post to be careful of fabric.com. I ordered 2 different colors of their MM fleece (purple & fuschia) and the purple one was not MM. But, I sent them an e-mail and I was credited for my entire order which I think is outstanding customer service so I will shop there again. Oh, also their yards are huge - they have a name for it but I got almost 1.5 yards of the good fleece!

How did you know it was not MM fleece? Was it the quality or do you just really know your MM fleece, lol?

Actually I really don't know my fleece but they were supposed to be the same weight (200) and MM is water repellant. The purple one's quality looked very poor and thinner and when I drizzled water on it the fabric sucked it right up.
