Dying or Restoring Sheepskin?

I got a new sheepskin rug in ivory and put it in my son's crib. He loves it. But he has been sweating on it (he sweat without the sheepskin in there, too, and I think it's actually more breathable and cool then the mattress and sheet). Well, I've had it in the crib a week and took it out to wash today and when I got it in the light (we keep his room very dark so he can sleep better), I saw that where he has layed on it has turned PEE yellow from the sweat! I washed it with Eucalan and the stains didn't come out.

So my question is, does anyone know how to restore the wool to the original ivory white color? And if not, does anyone know how to dye wool, and if so, how, and what natural color would you use to hide the yellow?

The sun usually does a pretty good job of bleaching stuff out.

Ohh, my mom has white carpet and had a wool rug over it and turned the carpet yellow. The carpet cleaners told her to put hydrogen peroxide on it and let it sit until it got as light as she wanted.

I tried Shout Oxy Power, which is similar to using hydrogen peroxide, but it didn't touch it. I will try the sun tomorrow and see if that helps.

You know, Kool-aid works on wool....I thought about this when I saw the sheepskins at IKEA this week.

You know, I might be a guinea pig for the Kool Aid sheepskin rug-dying...let me see if they have a color that will go with my son's room, like a teal or turquiose green...how cool would that be?! what a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion.
