At what age can you start using the disposable liners? Solid food time?

Some people use them during the first stage to handle the meconium. Then it all depends on the 'consistency' of the poop. :LOL Some people always use them, others only use them once they start solids.

I've never used them personal so this is just what I've always read.

I never really liked them..I got them free from somewhere. I would think for the meconium they may be helpful. When the kids are walking, the disposable liners tended to bunch up and not really be as effective. I LOVE the washable liners....they are cheap and easy to dunk in the toilet when you need....I can't remember where I got them...they were kushies maybe??

I tried the disposable liners when Noah's poos got really sticky but I didn't like them either. They seemed rough.

Sarah, this potty-learning thing is fun, huh? Not really. It is frustrating. This week has actually been better for us- no big leaks that result in me having to clean the floor- but he is still often having little leaks that leave his underpants with a little damp spot. So we are still having lots of underpant changes and lots and lots of underpant laundry so his favorites are clean. Also, you had asked me a while ago if Noah was still nursing. He's not but he is still very interested. I am thinking he is really going to want to try when the baby is born. Every now and then he asks and I let him try.

Speaking of breasts and breastfeeding, are anybody else's nipples very sore? Mine really are. I think I had thrush a few months ago, from all the nipple twiddling Noah did, but I got it taken care of- I think. Now they are still very sore though. I can't remember if they were sore at this point in my pregnancy with Noah.

Okay, I have to go. Boy needs me....

Chrissy,

My nipples are pretty sore - not all day long, but only when Paityn nurses. Ive got her down to about 3 times a day so thats nice!

With my other pregnancies I never had sore nipples or boobs (and wasnt nursing through pregnancy either).

We are working on potty training here also. I guess all our babies are pretty close to the same age (cant remember exactly). Paityn turned 2.5 last week. She is completely pee trained, but still will only poop in a diaper. Im very happy with even this though because she did it all on her own. I guess the rest will come in time.

Did I mention that we finally have Lucy potty trained? She turned 3 in May and would NOT have anything to do with a potty chair or toilet.
The Thursday before last, I was home all day alone with her, so she and I had "boot camp".
I left her naked from the waist down and refused her pleads for a PullUp. We made several attempts to sit on the potty, which she again refused. We cuddles, we played, we read, we spent all day having "mommy and Lucy time", while really trying to get her to use the potty.
Finally at about 4pm, I was in the kitchen cleaning up, and she came running in, "MA! I DID it!" I ran into the bathroom, and sure enough.....pee in the potty chair!
She was SO proud, and had this look on her face like, "Well why on earth haven't I been doing this all along?"

And to my great surprise and pleasure, she kept it up, and has been doing it ever since, poops included! She still wears a PullUp at night, but almost every morning she wakes up dry and really fills that potty chair up in the morning!
One time in the middle of the night she woke me up and said "MA! I gotta go REALLY bad!" and she went.

Whew! I am so relieved it went so well! She can be so stubborn. Obviously it had a lot to do with me just having the one-on-one time with her, and NOT giving in, which is so gard to do!
She has had a few accidents, but no big deal.
She still has a little hesitance about going potty on a big toilet while out in public, but will do it if she *has* to!

Hey all, are we going to start another 2-week thread?

I was at a friend's anniversary party today and one of her guests performed the "thread and wedding band test" over my belly, which indicated that I'm carrying a girl. The Chinese chart says I'm going to have a girl, and all of the old wives say I'm going to have a girl, because I'm carrying entirely in front.

Go for it, Jen, you start the best threads.

I believe that wedding band predictor, but it depends on who does it, and whether they are a good medium.
