My dad passed away just over a year ago.
I know what the loss feels like for me & cannot imagine how it feels for my mom. They were together for 40+ years.
She wrote this poem yesterday & I thought I'd share it with all of you.
The Second Year
I try to find what normal is, but normal won't be found
I search for some tranquility, but chase it round and round.
I'm caught up in the throes of everyday demands.
While secretly I'm struggling to just get up and stand.
The tasks of daily living overwhelm me and I hide.
I try to appear happy, but I know I'm lost inside.
People say, "How are You?", and I don't know what to say.
I fake some false bravado, depending on the day.
My friends move forward with their lives, while I am stuck in mine.
I guess the onlly answer is, It will take a lot more time.
Wishing everyone some peace as you grieve.
