How do you secure your ends when serging?

I'm learning to use my new serger and have tried the different ways it suggests in the manual to secure the ends, but somehow none of them look very nice. (I wish I could just backstitch like you do when sewing! :LOL ) I'm interested in how all you more experienced serger-users secure your ends at the beginning and end of a serged edge. And one last Q: with corners, do I need to secure the end even if I am going to turn the fabric and serge the next edge over the end of what I just finished? (Does that make sense?) Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

I separate the needle threads from the loopers and then tie them in a square knot. I jsut do that at the end, so if you have a corner, as long as you sew past that end seam, you don't need to worry about it because the serged seam crossing the other seam finishes it for you.

I take the end, thread it through a needle and stitch it into the loopers for about .75-one inch, pull slightly and trim the end so it falls under the loops.
