I just used the most amazing sewing machine in the world!!

It is a Pfaff brand!

The pressure foot is in two parts and actually walks the material through along with the feed dog.

Does anyone know where I can get one?

Check E-bay

I have a Pfaff sewing machine with the IDT and a Pfaff serger and love both so much that I bought my mom Pfaff machines for Christmas

I learned to sew on a Pfaff, and still sew on one because I can't go back to not having the dual-feed! That one feature makes it soooo much better than any other machine I've ever tried - my mom keeps an eye out for used older ones, because she's so in love with her 1229 (and she actaually found one recently - it's sitting in my sewing room right now )

I'm glad to hear that it is a good sewing machine. I'm really lucky bc my MIL heard that I wanted to learn to sew so she gave me her old one. She got a new one a few years ago.
It's really old but she says that it still works great. I have some fabric and a couple of easy patterns so I just have to get started.
Mine you I have never sewn a thing in my life so wish me luck.

Wow! I never noticed the sewing machine on that show.

I have been making a babycarrier for my SIL patterned on the one I had used for my children.

Mine was an "Andrea's BabyCarrier" with a patent. I ordered it from the Summer 1980 issue of Mothering Magazine. I still have the magazine and I wrote to the address in the magazine, but I got the letter. back. If anyone knows about this babycarrier, pm me please.

Meanwhile, I sewed this carrier for her and my nephew. I made some alterations based on my use of the carrier for four children over 15 years of baby carrying. I padded the shoulders and could not sew those beautiful shoulder straps on my homey Riccar. I needed a special machine.

I found it at the Vocational School near me. Because of liability, the teacher sewed it for me, but I got to watch that machine in action and wow!!!

When the baby carrier is done and mailed, I may go and sew my breakfast nook pads there before school starts.
