How do you get the Kool Aid out?

I just did my first Kool Aid yarn dying today. How cool! I rinsed it after I took it out of the microwave, just as the directions indicated. But as the hanks are drying I noticed they taste like kool aid still. Not that I was gnawing on the yarn or anything! I actually have a cut on my hand and it stung. Did I not rinse well enough or do you launder the yarn before using it for a project.

i've only kool aid dyed once, but maybe it would help to wash and lanolize the wool after dying. but even though i did this, my yarn still smelled a bit like the kool aid.

Ymmy sn't it? lol anyways, let them air dry throughly then rewash and lanolize and the smell will be out. dont worry it fades real fast even if you dont rewash.
