Help!!! My bathroom is being invaded by ants! They are everywhere~ the walls, the cupbaorads, the ceiling, the bathtub (strangely not the garbage)! I have been spraying them with vinegar solution which keeps them away for a little while. Does anybody have any tips for getting rid of ants & keeping them away? TIA!

ants everywhere

ugh! we have the same problem but in our kitchen. if there is the tiniest granual of food on the floor a zillion ants invade!
basically the only thing thats worked for me is keeping the space clean and spraying clove oil water around the edges and on the surfaces. it def. helps but like with the vinegar you have to keep up with it. i can't bring myself to buy ant houses and hope ant season is almost over!
where are they coming in? find the spot and dose it with the clove oil. we did that with crushed chilis too. (it worked until they figured out how to go around it, lol) key is to eliminate the entrance.
best of luck, i know how frustrating and gross it is!
much love,

This site really helped me.

But I made my own boric acid sugar solution. I also tried to find all the ways that they were getting into my home and sealed their entry points as much as I could. I had terrible ant problems, but after setting out the boric acid stuff, they were gone within a week and haven't been seen since.

Boric acid IS toxic though. It's just a much milder toxin than something awful like Raid. I made just what I needed, made sure that it was inaccessible to other critters, and followed through with nontoxic measures.

I had a huge invasion yesterday in my kitchen. The worst one yet. I prayed with vinegar but it didn't deter them. I tried to caulk their entry points but they found others. So I finally bought ant traps (Raid) and they are all gone! I left them down for a few hours during DS's nap time and then moved them out of his reach. I feel comfortable with that because no poison gets into the air like with a spray.

When we moved into our current apartment three years ago, the ants were out of control. We employed the Squish and Flush method. Every time we saw an ant, we squished it and then flushed it down the toilet. It only took a few days for the ants to catch on and they were gone. Each year it takes fewer and fewer days. This year I only had to S&F two ants and then the rest headed for the hills. LOL

If you need something a little more powerful, try filling a 16oz. spray bottle almost full of water and add either 3 tbsp of castille soap or 1 tbsp of liquid hand dishwashing soap. Spray it directly onto the ants and then wipe it up. The soap will dry them up.

Find out where the ants got into your house and plug the hole with petroleum jelly. You can also prevent more ants from coming in by spraying a water and peppermint oil mixture where ants come in - corners, baseboards, window sills, etc.

HTH!
