Is there an adjustment period to not using facial products?

I've just recently cut back on shampooing (going no-poo very soon!) I've given up scented bodywashes...and just plain water on my face. I've noticed I don't need body lotion like before, and that's great! But my face-oy!! I am covered in pimples! Especially along my hair line. Temples, forehead, behind my ears, neck (eeeewwww!) So what gives? Will my face adjust? You'd think not having to use moisturizer as much would greatly improve my complexion!!?? HELP!

I don't have an answer for you, but I'm glad to see you over here!

It's been a while since I stopped using facial products (though I'm not wholly soap free yet, I still use glycerin), but I do seem to remember a period where I had more acne than normal. It's probably the same as with going no-poo. The skin needs to adapt to not having its natural oils swept away regularly.

Citrus and salt water can be good for taming acne.
