I lurk here often, and was so disturbed at the doctor's yesterday that I thought I would get it off my chest and post here.
I was alone in an office changing for my physical. Well, the room where he does them also stores his fridge/freezer thing for vaccines. He was taking forever so I was reading all the warning things posted on the fridge and also saw this sheet right out in the front, well in the open for anyone to view, that looked like a chart/graph that a sales team would fill in to see if they met their quota(sp?).
It had a pharmaceutical logo on it and then a chart that my doc had obviously been filling it. What bothered me was it said something to the degree of "Targeted amount of Vaccines for the Month" and listed numbers depending on the vaccine, ie:dtap, hepB, etc. There were listed numbers, something ranging from 20 patients to 100. 40 seemed to be the target number for the majority of them, so I assume it meant 40 children. There were boxes to check, etc.
Now, I don't know if I explained this well, so if it doesn't make sense I apologize. How I personally interpretted it was the vaccine people have an amount they want the doctor to sell each month?? Does that seem absolutely wrong?? I'm hoping I have misunderstood, I really am. I personally do not vax, but this just made me ill. I considered asking the doctor about it, but didn't want to get into a "discussion".
Anyways, I needed to post this because I am bothered by this. I believe in a parent being able to make an informed decision about vaxes, that is their right, BUT...a quota??
