anOther no poo HELP(!) question!

I've been no poo for over a month. I have waist length, thick curly hair. For years I only used conditioner on my hair a shampoo maybe once or twice a month (I always thought it was my "secret" ). After dd was born, I only got to shower every other day or so & felt so clean if I would shampoo, so I got in that nasty habit. Now my hair is GREASY, really greasy. For 2 weeks I've only used BS paste, with one lime rinse and one oil/rosemary on the very ends. Before that I was trying to just rinse it really good and every few showers do the BS/ACV. My hair has maintained it's level of oiliness no matter what I try.
Back in the day I got so many compliments on my hair "fantasy hair", "mermaid hair", now it's just plain gross! Any suggestions? I use a plastic : brush, could that be the culprit. I was reading that boar bristle makes it worse, it also 'fros my hair. Hmmmm.

Give it a bit more time or have you used apple cider vinegar at all? My hair went through an oily adjustment period but now it's not bad anymore. It takes some time to get it over 'poo.

Have you tried going back to the conditioner "wash" since that worked for you?

And you're saying that your hair is oily right after you use BS? Maybe you're not using enough? I know that some people say they use a tbs or so in a lot of water, but I find a paste works best for me. Ok, I re-read and you said you use a paste, :LOL But maybe you just need *more* than you are using for waist length?

You could be using too *much* bs and drying out your hair, thus stimulating your scalp to "come to the rescue" with lots & lots of oil. Honey can help with that. Someone posted a handful of links on the "No Shampoo?!" thread, try perusing those.

Thanks so much for your replies.

Piles of Laundry, you might be right about giving it some time. I had tried ACV and it was far worse then. I tried lime instead but didn't notice a difference so I stopped using a rinse.

ShannonCCC, I tried to go back for to the conditioner only for a couple of weeks, but it really got bad... that's when I started trying the BS/ACV. I might be Over-doing the BS.

girlndocs, you could really be onto something about using too much. I forgot to mention that I had tried honey & ended up with crusty hair at a funeral (boy did I have a hard time getting that out) and still the greasy, greasy hair. I checked into another old no poo thread (there are so many!) and only had time to get a few pages read, it did reccomend a couple of new things, lavender & witch hazel.

Other than that , maybe I should just tough it out & just rinse really well for a few showers & try to let it stabilize. I'll keep looking at the old threads, too. Thanks!
