Sewing with stretching fabrics

I have been trying to sew my own fitted diapers and do great if I only use flannel and woven fanrics. I want to do more jerseys but whenever I try things get a little crazy and don't come out exactly as I would like. Are there any tips you can please offer up or is there something I can adjust on my sewing machine? Thanks!!!

One thing that's really important is using a ball-point needle when sewing stretch fabrics (otherwise the sharp needle tries to puncture the threads of the jersey and things can go a bit wonky).

You may also need to play a bit with the thread tension, along with the presser foot pressure.

Happy sewing!

Thanks Kimberly! I finally found the owner's manual so I can fiddle with this stuff. There is a stretch stitch and that seemed to help some but it goes so sloooow.
