Yay Erica! Great thread. The more I get to know you, the more I'm finding we have in common

Can dh and I join your Mr. Show and Tenacious D marathons? We have the DVDs and promise not to be third wheels (...legend, the legend, the third wheel legend. Always in the waaayyyy... ) or back stage betties We are always dropping Mr. Show references and cracking each other up. Best sketch comedy ever. They are both classic AND kick a$$!

We've seen David Cross, Mr. Show, and the D (twice) live when they were in Philly. I've also seen Kids in the Hall and Sandra Berhardt twice. We also love Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock. Adore Eddie Izzard. Monty Python is a given. John Leguizamo, George Carlin, Margaret Cho, Jon Stewart, Conan O'Brien, Bill Maher are funny as heck too. We comedy. We will likely be giving up digital cable soon and I will really miss the HBO Comedy channel . We tape a lot of it.

My DH...okay, he CAN be annoying (he's Tom Green and Jim Carey's love child! :LOL ) but if the mood strikes me, he's hilarious.

How did Chris Rock only come up once????

George Carlin

John Leguizamo (Saw him on broadway this past Thanksgivening-evening-he's hilarious AND talks about natural midwife assisted home birth and BFing )

And Martin Lawrence is funny too.

there are many...but one that really is head and shoulders above the rest....chris rock
post #15 of 24
i used to adore Rock's comedy, but his last show had me wondering where all the funny went. if he makes a comeback, maybe i'll add him to my list again.

I LOVE Chris Rock. We're always quoting Bigger and Blacker. Also love Eddie Izzard and Dave Atell. Sometimes when we play cards with our friends we play old Jerky Boys records. LOL!

I have a really hard time with Martin Lawrence because I saw his really controversial opening on SNL many years ago and he just completely disgusted me. I've pretty much avoided him like the plague ever since.

Ellen
Lewis Black
John Stewart
Mitch Hedberg

while i think robin williams has made some great movies (the fisher king immediately comes to mind) his stand up comedic routines kinda annoy me. he always seems like he's on crack.
