Doula (or midwife) gift ideas

I would like to get something to thank my doula for all the help she gave me and I was wondering what ideas you guys had for doula/midwife gifts.

My doula is a mother of 6, Christian, and she homeschools her kids. Just in case that helps with ideas. Thanks ladies.

I'll be watching this thread myself. My doula is a mother of 5, homeschools, but not Christian. LOL.

I'm bartering half of her fees for haircuts, since I'm a professional (retired) hairdresser. But, maybe I'll get her a gallon of shampoo to go along with that, or something. Hmmmm. Got to get thinking about this!

Hey Lena! Hope you're taking good care of yourself! What a great birth story...

As far as the gift goes, what about a gift certificate for a massage?(depending on how much $$$ you want to spend). Kind of like a little TLC for all the TLC she gave to you...Or something else pampering like that???

Oh yes, Attachements is a great place. I am making my midwives each a throw in a fabric that reflects their home's decor...........Laurie likes Asian so she's getting a black brocade with black hemp silk on the backside, and Meredith goes to mexico a lot to do services there, and she's into the Mexican culture a lot. She's getting a Dias De Los Muertos print with the black silk on the backside.

As a doula, here's what I would love to receive

* a glowing recommendation from my client that i can put in with my client packets
* gift certificates to amazon.com or barnes & noble (books are expensive!)
* spa or massage treatment
* birth friendly jewelry, t-shirts, etc

I could think of others but that's a start, anyway!
