As others have said I think the insurance issues is if you sign out AMA and then need to be readmitted.
For us we had dd at 8 pm around 9 am we asked to leave, they said we could but they needed to keep the baby for 24 hours
Anyway I told them fine but we were leaving at 8 pm, they started the paperwork about 6pm and we left at 8. It really wasn't that bad since we had her at night, we really just spent a day there.
