baby's head

I have a question for you veteran's out there. This is my 3rd baby and at my 36 week prenatal appointment the midwife said I was 2 cm dialated, 50% effaced and that she coudl easily feel the baby's head. Now - the dialation and effacement I know all about. I was 70+% effaced and 3-4 cm dialated with my 2nd for WEEKS! So that doesn't tell me anything. But I have never had anyone say they could already feel the baby's head before. What do you think? My thought was that this doesn't mean anything in terms fo when I will go, only that once I am dialated it probably won;t take much to get baby out.

Just wanted others ideas.
Thanks

Well, I don't know...does she mean she can feel the baby's head through the cervix, or through the vaginal wall?

I'm 35 weeks w/ my third pregnancy too, and although I believe I'm effacing, since I can't reach back enough to tell if I'm dilating (cervix is out of reach as of a few days ago), I can also feel the baby's head through the vaginal wall.

I was told both times that she could feel the head at 39 weeks with ds and 38 with dd. I had fast labors both times, but pushing wasn't really fast.
