Doggone, I haven't been here in awhile, so I thought it was time to check in again. We'll need a new thread before too long.
Don't you just love this age!
We went to a birthday pool party/BBQ today, and Jessie actually liked being in the pool for once. She doesn't like our pool at home. I strapped her in a little booster chair and let her sit at the table while I was eating, and she chowed down. She really likes everything and will eat anything unless it is pureed. She ate a lot of the watermelon I gave her, then grabbed a baby's plate and took some of his cheese.
Yesterday we went to an API potluck and she crawled onto another blanket and tried to eat a little boy's chips, but fortunately she didn't get any in her mouth. And my elder daughter was complaining that she dropped a piece of her sesame chicken and Jessie ate it. I gave Molly some more chicken and didn't think too much of it until about 15 minutes later when Jessie spit out a huge
piece of white breastmeat chicken that was completely devoid of any kind of chinese sauce or sesame seeds. Oh, wonderful!
Molly didn't really eat much at all at this age, but Jessie wants stuff--they are very different from one another. The other day my two nieces and Molly were sitting at the table eating and my husband was holding Jessie. He said that she put a hand in his mouth and he didn't take the hint, so she started climbing up on him to look at the girls, and then she make loud lipsmacking noises. She drops a lot of food on the floor, but since I'm not so quick on the clean-up, she gets to eat it the next day. :LOL DH calls her the catfish of the family. Seriously, I have seen her picking up food from the floor and I let her keep it depending on what it is.
Congratulations on your pregnancy, FreeRangeMama!
