Oh so much to catch up on...
First Maya is totally taking some steps. She is only 9 months old!!! I ordered some shoes, soft star and robeez and had them sent to my mom`s house in the states. Nice to avoid international shipping on those.
I talked to DH about a birthday party, as I said it is not really done in Japan, so he has no preconceptions about what a first year birthday party should be. We looked at the calendar and her birthday, the 28th is on a Thursday, so we thought of the Saturday or Sunday, which is Halloween. So that will be our theme. I can do some pumpkin muffins, make cute decorations and call it a day. We will invite the PILs and BIL, SIL and the 3 nieces 10 yr. 8 yr and 2 yr. Should be fun.
What do I do for myself..... I work PT, so DH watches Maya 2-3 times a week. I had planned on doing some grocery shopping or stuff before or after, but it has not worked out. I started the private lessons in January, it is now August and she STILL cries when it is just the 2 of them. Three times a week a babysitter comes and watches Maya, and she almost never cries for the babysitter.... I think DH is great with her, so patient and gentle. When I see them together reading, singing, dancing etc.. it is hard for me to imagine how things could be so hard when they are alone. I have been making scrapbooks for my folks. I put it off for too long and now I have to work on them every spare minute to even think of getting them finished before I go back to the states, which is in 2 weeks!! NOT looking forward to a 13 hour flight with Maya. I can only pray she sleeps. My other concern is nursing, she is BIG and has recently started this pushing legs out as far as possible thing, and we all know how roomy economy class is NOT! I just hope it is some kind and understanding person who doesn`t mind getting kicked.
I am making some bum sweaters, I have the sweaters in the washing machine now and will go to the laundrette to dry them/shrink them.
What else... biting. Maya only does it late at night, I think she just gets so tired or something. I take her off and say no biting, but she instantly starts to root around for the boob again. Switching sides does seem to help.
It suddenly got cool here, from high 80s to low 70s in a matter of 2 days. I am not ready for summer to end.
Oh and yesterday Maya was in a squating position and then stood up all by herself, not grabbing on to anything. Still crawls like crazy everywhere.
