Do I want wool to felt for sewn covers?

I'm trying to choose some fabric to sew wool covers. I'm looking at the wool jerseys and interlocks. I'm hoping for a soft, somewhat stretchy cover. Some descriptions state that the fabrics "felt up nicely." I thought I didn't want the fabric to felt, but to retain its stretchyness? I'm confused!

You can use jersey or interlock felted or unfelted. They will get more dense and lose a bit of stretch when felted(unless it's a type that doesn't really felt, I've had a few of these, but they're rare). Iprefer to use interlock unfelted. It makes a nice cover that's super soft and stretchy, but not too bulky

Thanks for the reply! It sounds like unfelted interlock is exactly what I want. I've got to get sewing so I can get this babe into wool!
