LOVE HIM!!!

He's in my top 5. Brilliant. Read Good Omens, Stardust, American Gods, various short stories, and Poetry. He's got a series of graphic novels called Sandman, but I haven't read them yet. If you like him, you may like Jonathan Carroll (top 5 also), but sometimes he's hard to find.

If you like Neil Gaiman you HAVE to read the Sandman series. It is wonderful. be warned - it can be graphic. I love all of his stuff. My dh just sent me a thing that they are going to make Good Omens into a movie. Terry Gilliam is supposed to direct. he is the one who did 12 Monkeys. I love him - I am getting ready to go back and read American Gods again.

Haven't heard about that movie. I have heard that Neverwhere is either a movie or like a mini-series or something on BBC. I also heard that one of his graphic novels, maybe Death and the High Cost of living, or the other Death one, is supposed to be a movie in the future. He also has a new book out called Coraline that is for teens/youg adults.

The Sandman books are really beyond anything I have ever seen as far as comics go. They have won awards for literature. They are just amazing and everyone should read them.

Terry Gillam directed more than 12 monkeys he directed Monty Python movies!!! Good Omens is going to be a riot!! I couldn't read the book without rocking with laughter the movie is going to give me an apoplexy!!

Neverwhere was pretty good but it isn't my favorite by him. The Death graphic novel they wanted to do was High Cost of Living but I haven't heard much about it since I stopped working at the comic book store....I never hear anything about comic books these days...

Gaiman is definitely one of my favorite authors, (but not my favorite favorite, that spot is already taken). I think I have just about everything he's written.... my mom bought me a hardcover limited edition of a Sandman graphic novel for Christmas one year and I was hooked. And I've actually seen the Neverwhere miniseries. It's really good, and if I'm not completely mistaken Neil played the Lord Ratspeaker in the show. (If it wasn't him it was someone who looked just like him.) I really should have wandered over here before now, considering our house is overflowing with books thanks to me. Now to just get bookshelves up so we can unpack the boxes of books.......
