A No Poo Recipe

I just wanted to share this since its working great for me.
I make no-poo balls, its a lot easier than mixing everything together in the shower.
I just mix together BS, water, honey, and EO's roll it into about 1/2"- 1" balls and let them dry for a few days. I keep a dish of them on my bathroom counter and just bring one into the shower, cup it in my hand, let some water mist over it and work it into my hair.

Oooh, I'll try that. I've gone no poo as of three days ago! Dp thinks I'm crazy, but I'm determined to show him! Your ingenius balls will help, I'm sure.

what a neat idea

i've just been using an old shampoo bottle and filling it up with a bs, water and tto mix. i keep my vinegar in a spray bottle for convenience's sake.

What does the honey do? it's a humectant right?

Cool recipe! I've been poo free for a year and a half but yet to use one of these recipes.

I'm a vegetarian and trying to go back to being a vegan. Is there something else I can use other than honey? I might try your recipe moss. Great idea. Do you use a certain amount of each ingredient (BS, tto, and water??)

The balls sound sooo cute though!

I want to know too. Not because I am vegan, but because honey makes me feet icky. like molassas. and some other viscous liquidy things. Ew, not I have goosebumps.

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas? I really want to try this, and I bet it doesn't make good bals w/o the honey.

Thanks, Kelsi

I don't really measure, sorry. I guess a thick paste is how I would explain it.0

Can someone fill me in? Why is shampoo not good? And what is BS? And EOs?

:LOL

Whisper, follow the links in my signature, first the original thread for all the whys and wherefores.......

MaryLang, thanks. You can add a sticky, but it would be a separate note. If I add it, I can add it to my big post right under LaLa's where it'll all be together. Thanks.

That sounds cool!

gratefulmom- I didn't tell dh at all until I had been doing no poo for a few months and was sure it was going to work out with my hair and everything. When he first smelled the vinegar on me and saw the bs box in the bathroom I told him I was just using it as a natural conditioner because the chemical stuff breaks me out in hives. He was ok with that, I held out until this weekend to tell him I gave up shampoo :LOL. Since it's been a while and he realizes my head didn't get infested or anything it must be ok and it's one less thing to buy so he is happy!

Fabulous idea!

For the vegans, my guess is it could be done without the honey... it might not gel as nicely, but it baking soda and water as a paste do firm up on their own... if it doesn't roll, you could scoop it onto a tray with a spoon and let it sit for a few days to dry!

HTH!

I had to eliminate the TTO has anyone else had to do it cause it made your hair greasy feeling. Dont know if it is me or what. Love the feeling of my hair and i can go every four days or so. yeah!! In the summer I will add the TTO cause my head gets really dry scalp with swimming in the ocean and stuff. I also make enough to scrub my face with love it!!
