Ugh. Heartburn.

Nothing much more to say lol....
Anyone have anything special that they do for it?
Can we take Zantac (too lazy to do a search even after a 3 hour nap....)??
I'm also SO starving but when I go to eat my eyes are too big for my stomach and I can't eat it all. Part of the heartburn problem might be eating more than I can handle at this point.
Other than that I'm doing alright. No nausea (yet), but big sore boobies and T I R E D all the time.
I hate to admit it but I locked my son and I in our bedroom and he watched a dvd while I half snoozed and half listened to him. It's amazing how you can do that (unless I was dreaming that I could hear him).
I guess that's it!

Me too, and I have been getting major car sick and so tired too. yawn! With my DD#1 I didnt get HB until the last 2 months but this one seems like it is starting right off the bat- how ever, I am starting to feel better nausea wise, except when I am in the car- so that is good and I have come back to being able to eat most things. But the HB sucks, I took tums when I was preggo before.

Yeah I keep forgetting about Tums lol! I feel like an idiot now.
I don't really get car sick, but there is a dead deer on the road I need to travel every day. I have to hold my breath for about an entire minute or so or else I'd probably heave in the car.
I wonder what causes heartburn so early on in pregnancy? I definitely understand the latter part, but early I don't get.
I suppose it has something to do with hormones or increase in SOMETHING.
If I wasn't so exhausted I'd be able to figure it out on my own but for now I'll just ponder

Papaya enzyme. Someone recommended it to me last time and while it's not a cure-all, it's harmless to take. I was more comfortable taking it than popping Tums, personally.

Last time the heartburn started around 20 weeks and lasted 'til the end; this time it's already started. Oy.

Fresh Papaya, dried papaya those are both great for HB. Personally I wouldn't pop the tums. I have heard conflictng reports on taking it during pg that I will just stay away.

I know during pg #2 I used to take Gaviscon b/c it helped coat the esophogus and keep the acid reflux and hb at bay. I usually get the acid reflux *blech* With pg#1 coke my was cure all for that lol

i use homeopathic carbo veg. i use 30c potency, but the x potencies would work too. just depends on what your natural grocery store has, unless you have a homemade source for it.

Hi all!

Not sure how I got myself into a March group! (I'm due in January), but since I'm here...the BEST remedy for heartburn I've found is plain ol' baking soda.

I just mix a little in some warm water and drink it, we affectionately call it a "baking soda shake" around our house. It's not the best taste you've ever experienced, but give it a minute or two to work it's anti-heartburn magic, you'll burp like a sailor, and feel SO MUCH BETTER!!! I promise!

If you're on some sort of sodium-restriction, this wouldn't be the remedy for you, but other than that, it's by far the cheapest and most effective I've been able to come up with.

Best wishes to you all!

papaya tablets worked wonders for me in the begining ... i eventually had to get a prescription for something in the end ... not enough room for twins... i also lived on bread or bread with peanut butter ...especially before bed time
