Has anyone read Unplug the Christmas Machine? What did you think?

Who is the author? Sounds like a book I would LOVE to read! Dh and I are trying to find ways to tone down holidays and birthdays but the in-laws make it difficult with all of the crap they give the kids! I need ideas/help!

Thanks!

I AM SO READY TO BE UNPLUGGED!!!!!

I have a copy of this book. It's great. But, in this family we have been unable to incorporate much of the ideas. We have been buying gifts for everyone -- extended family -- for so many years it is blasphemous to even MENTION discontinuing it.

UGH.

I dread Christmas every year and always say I'm going to do it different and never do.

Have YOU read it? Maybe we could inspire each other!

I'mking on it

But the children insist on being fed & etc... (joking!) Seriously I am not making much progress & was trying to figure out if it was worth all the effort I'm putting in to trying to read it. I'll let you know when I'm done. I can't reach my book right now, I'm nursing both the babies & it's across the room. I'll get back to you with that!
