how long did you bleed PP?

DD is almost 11wks old. i'm exclusively BF. and so far have been bleeding since she was born. at my 6wk check-up it had pretty much almost stopped but since then DH and i have had sex a few times and it has come back...not heavy but still, enough that i have to use a small pad now and again (or pantyliner). i normally would think well gee, every woman is different and i'm probably ok but a pal of mine bled for 13 wks...her doc told her she was fine but now her repro endocrinologist says she should've had a D&C and that was too long.

forgot to mention i'm on the mini-pill.

so......anyone?

I can't remember clearly, but I think dd was about 3 months old when i stopped wearing pads completely.

2 weeks was when I stopped and even though i was EBF at the time my period returned a month later.

My first was just over 6 weeks. My next 2 were 4 weeks, but AF came 2 weeks later, then another 2 weeks later, then 3 weeks later, then 2 weeks later.

I bled for somewhere around 6-8 weeks. Are you having red blood or brown? My last midwife told me as long as it was more brownish, it was older blood.

6 weeks or so with both. And THAT is why i'm seriously considering eating a chunk or two of placenta. I hate bleeding. HATE it. I always feel like I smell like meat after I have a baby. If eating placenta will stop the bleeding sooner I'm all for it.

with my first, it was around 6 weeks

with my 2nd, i stopped around 5 weeks, then started again around 6 or 7 weeks and stopped for good right before 8 weeks

with my 3rd, i stopped right before 8 weeks, started again at 9 weeks for a day or so, then started again at 11 weeks for a day or so. ds2 is now 13 weeks and i haven't bled anymore since that 11 week bleed for a day.

I started my period at 9 mos with the first 2 and hope I can wait that long or more with the 3rd.

i'm not sure if what i had/am having is a period. right now, i doubt it because i'm EBF and on the minipill. but at 4wks i thought i might be having it, even tho i was continuously bleeding PP...it just suddenly got a bit heavier and i got a bit crampy. so i started the minipill a bit early. the blood was red, of course, at 1st, then got lighter and browner, then red (possible period) then seemed to fade but not disappear (brownish) and then was light but red! so, it's been all over the map. i guess i need to ask a doc

i bled for 11 weeks, it was barely noticeable after the first few weeks but it was just enough to want to line your undies...

Isn't the mini-pill associated w/light "break-thru" bleeding (spotting?)? Just a thought....

I bled/spotted for 8 weeks after #1
5 weeks after #2

If I were still bleeding at 11 weeks, I'd probably go get checked, personally, I'd be concerned about retained placenta or something. Hope it clears up for you in any event.
