This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

BF'ing info
I don't have any specific lists, just want to offer a little advise. I would tread very lightly so you don't offend mom. I have a SIL who has four kids and is pregnant with number five. She has never BF. She has asked me alot of questions about it (more and more with each baby) and it looks like she may be trying to nurse this one at home only. She is very embarrassed about nursing outside her home. I don't offer any advice outside of what she asks. I was one of those moms who wasn't going to BF. I didn't have any experience with people around me and honestly didn't see the point. My husband was very insistent about BF'ing. We compromised - I would try for a few weeks if I didn't like it I would quit. I tried and loved it. I nursed Seth for three months and then nursed and bottlefed with formula. Madi was unable to nurse but I pumped and she got breastmilk for four months before being formula fed. Zachary nursed (he never had formula or bottles) for 2.5 yrs. Nicholas was unable to nurse as well but had breastmilk for about one month then was formula fed. Just be careful it won't be offensive to her to recieve info. I always just talked about it as a side comment with my SIL until she started asking questions. Good Luck.

I think in order to motivate her to do BF or to consider it, you need to know why she's against it, what her fears and beliefs about it are. I've heard of women who were sexually abused and who could not bear to BF - that's their choice. Or maybe she thinks using formula and the kids having 10 colds, 2 ear infections, and several bouts of diarrhea is normal in the first year, kwim?
