Olympics

Honestly I don't know how many MDCers will be watching the Olympics but I wanted to let those who care know...that the Olympics are on all the channels of the NBC family.

Naturally the big glamorous events will be on NBC but all the other channels will have things...for example a lot of soccer will be on telemundo. My husband wants to watch Sailing and that will be on Bravo... then there will be things on MSNBC/CNBC... you get the drift. Just letting you guys know who might be interested.

frankly, I'm surprised the games are even getting off the ground..they seemed so iffy for the last year...

here's a link to the tv schedule

Yeah! It's finally starting! And we're leaving Sunday morning for our camping trip. :

Oh well, that's what TiVo is for.

We area NO TV family but we are making an exception for the opening ceremonies. DH lived in Greece for a while and if he had his way, that is where we would be living now.

I heard a report today on NPR that during the opening ceremonies there is a presentation where the greek gods come alive that is pretty cool.

looking forward to it.

I watch pieces of the Opening. I liked many parts of it.

but I really enjoyed the outfits on the girls who held the country signs. they looked like vases.

Got to love that TiVo! We recorded the opening ceremony. So I happily fast forwarded through all of NBC's first montage.

I thought the parade of gods and godesses and ancient Greek images was just the neatest. Beautiful, facinating, well done.

Dh and I both cheered for the Iraqi team when they processed on to the field. Yeah for them!

by the way....how about those empty seats.
that is very sad.

I went to events here in LA in 84. Even the lamest events were practically sold out.
