Anybody feeling the overwhelming urge to simplify? - Page 2

After going to an all-Fuzzi Bunz system once DS grew out of size smalls (of which I had a huge mish-mash stash) and into mediums, my life has been much easier. I don't even *gasp* visit diapering anymore, I just saw this thread on the new posts search. :

Yup, I went through this like a year ago, when I was spending a discusting amount of money(because we really didn't have it) on fuz diaper gardens. I sold them all along with my sos, and some other hyena dipes, and am still sad once in a while, but it was so freeing. I swear the more you let go of the easier it gets, and the better it feels.
I want 2-3 doz fitteds for the new baby, 2-4 wool covers, 3-4 wool pants, and 1-2 dozen prefolds. Sounds like a lot, but it's simple, and would let me wash every 2-3 days. I let my babies go coverless at home, so need lots of dipes. LOL they are definate piddlers.
For Sam I would love 2 doz dyed pfs, 2-4 wool covers, 3-4 wool pants, and a dozen fitteds. That would be the perfect "stash" for me. Oh, and I guess this looks like a lot. LOL I think it is the streamlining that looks good now, we have so many different odds and ends left from when I sold everything off a year ago, I just want everything to be the same. LOL

Yup! I am feeling the urge too!!!

I have started thining out the stash, I just don't use it all and it bugs me that it's just sitting there

I have simplified (once I figured out what I liked) and I love it. Lots of prefolds, and just Muttaqins for fitteds. Trying to go all wool but it's too expensive. My NB stash is really diverse, but that's ok, once baby grows out of it we can sell it and invest in some more wool and that's that!
I'm crazy about prefolds right now. I suppose I will get bored...one of the reasons I have 1 doz Muttaqins! To be exciting!
And I am going to an all-Very Baby AIO system for going out.

Thanks! This thread has given me the extra kick in the booty I needed. Now I'm off to take pics and swing by good ol' ebay. It really excites me to think about focusing my attention on a few beautiful items (like the all homegrown, natural wool soaker I just won on Ebay) and not get sucked into every cute little thing that passes by. I'm also going to be learning to knit my own soakers...and that excites me more than anything has in a long time Picking out yummy wool colors was so calming. I need more calm...:LOL

I have only been CDing for about 2 months and I have a little mish-mosh of stuff and it is driving me crazy. I am also bummed that a fair amount of money went down the drain because I discovered that dd cannot wear PUL. I have sold most of it off but you still don't make all your money back. In any case I have decided to simplify and this is my stash I am working on:

1 dozen trimmed premium UBCPF
1 dozen premium UBIPF
6 Hemparoos
6 wool covers
6 recycled sweater wool longies
2 wool jersey pants
6 fitted dipes
2 Nighttime diapers
18 silk liners
36 flannel wipes

I have about 70% of this. I am tired of thinking of all the different types of dipes. If I have a hankering for something different I will just sew it. I have come so close to many impulse buys and I think I can now just rest and feel comfy with my system I like.

We have just one type of diaper so we're simple with that. However, when it comes to covers, I've been on the quest for the perfect wool soaker. Today I was washing some of my soakers and I decided it's time for them to head off to the TP. You can laugh all you want, but it bugs me having more than one type of soaker. They may be different colors, but they all need to be made the same way. Something about consistency...
