I used to like her books and read the series up to the last book in the Ruby series. She was getting to weird, and I was sick of all the incest and everything else that went on with them. I have no problem reading the ones I have read, but I just couldn't bring myself to read anymore.

I reread one of VCA books recently, or tried to anyway. Why did I like these books in high school? I don't know what drew me to them...

i loved her back in the day! i think that website is full of beans though. i don't think she died in 1986, i remember when she died & it has to have been in the mid to late nineties, i think.

i thought those books were so intense & well-written. it makes me laugh now rereading them. they are cheesy incestuous fluff! (in a good way!)

Nah, she died in '86 or somewhere about. I was in the height of my "fandom" and in jr. high, so it had to have been around then. (I was married in 92, kids in the mid 90's and she'd been dead for years.)
