Handwriting without tears help

I would like to start using Handwriting without Tears with my son and I can't decide if I should go with the Readiness program, or the Printing program. Can those with experience with this curriculum help me? He is almost 4 and can read very well. He has known his letters (upper and lower case) and numbers for a year now and has started writing capital letters on his chalkboard. He is constantly asking me to help him write words so I think he would really enjoy this program.

Oh, and hello to everyone! I am new to homeschooling and have learned quite a bit from reading your posts. I am sure I will have many more questions along the way.

TIA!

Well, I think I have decided to do the readiness program and if it is not right for him I'll move up to printing.

I think it best to start a four year old with the readiness stuff. It will help develope good habits and allow him to have a lot of fun with it. My 4 year old really enjoys it.

I agree do the readiness stuff first. If he gets it move through it as fast as HE needs. If not at least he won't get frustrated.

Thanks! I guess I'll go for it and see how it goes. I am excited to start and my son keep asking when "school at home" starts?

Thanks for this thread Pokey!

I just ordered some of the readiness products. DD is so frustrated with wanting to "draw" her letters, but not being able to; these look like the perfect tools to help her succeed!
