free homeschool record-keeping program

There you can download a free record-keeping program for homeschoolers. It is free (the souped-up version you have to pay for). I've known about this program for a year but we always had a Mac-- now we have a PC so I can use it.

I think this program would be good even for unschoolers-- you can use it just to keep track of attendance (required by many states), book lists, field trips, and there is a space for the teacher to keep a daily journal. I just downloaded it today and I've been typing in our activities of the past couple weeks. I didn't even realize we'd been on four "field trips." When you see all the stuff you've done in an official lookig format, it can be reassuring. I know one of my problems is that I feel like I'm not doing enough with the kids.

And for more structured types like myself, there is space for assignments and grades. It will automatically average grades for you, and you can print out formatted versions of all the organizational departments offered.

I love how professional it makes the report cards/ resource lists look when you print them out.

It makes it look like we're actually working over here.
