My niece died yesterday

23 years old, healthy on wednesday and dead on thursday.

I am just unable to comprehend. I saw her dead in the hospital, I didn't get there in time.

I feel so bad for her mother and father.

(She was not an average 23 yo, but she was not unhealthy and this was completely unexpected)

Thank you all for the very nice messages. I have truly been shocked at the wonderful love an support I am getting from everyone.

I don't have children, so I have just been dealing with myself. My niece was the youngest of the family, the baby for so many years. When she graduated high school, we all felt soooo old. When the baby graduates, that means we're old. My youngest brother and sister are not understanding at all. She is 6 and just doesn't understand forever gone. He sort of goes between having understanding and not having any. He's 8. They will not be at the funeral because it's too expensive to fly them too. My mother will be here, though.
Hopefully that makes sense above. I'm the middle child of seven and our generations overlap.
I bought some paper to make a photo book (from digital prints and old photos), but I'm not up to looking at her photos yet. I hope I can do it before Wednesday. I feel like if I don't order flowers, it won't be real.
